Recently, Engineering News-Record (ENR) announced the winners of the Best of the Best Projects 2019. One Thousand Museum, an ultra-luxury condominium contracted to China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), received the award of Best Residential/Hospitality.
Located in downtown Miami, the 63-story, "six-star" luxury high-rise condo overlooks the scenic Biscayne Bay, with facilities like private elevators, multiple swimming pools, a fitness center, an aquatic center, the Sky Lounge event space, and a helipad on the roof.
As one of the final projects of late architect Zaha Hadid, known as the “Queen of the Curve,” One Thousand Museum's unique look garnered huge public attention during the construction. The project landed a cover story in ENR in 2017, and since then has received a number of prestigious awards. Its outstanding design of exoskeleton and technologically advanced construction were featured in PBS’ documentary “Impossible Builds.”
ENR's annual Best Projects award is known for its rigorous selection criteria. The finalists stand out for their excellence in design, collaboration, safety, and on-time delivery of high-quality construction. After two rounds of evaluation, a panel of experts selected 20 winners from some 900 projects across the U.S.
