China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) recently began the second phase construction of Ethiopia's National Stadium in Addis Ababa. The stadium will cover a floor space of 103,000 square meters and have a seating capacity of 60,000. It will be a multi-purpose international venue that features a main stadium, auxiliary training grounds, and outdoor pitches.

The second phase of the project involves the engineering of a 6,000-metric-ton steel structure and a 6,500-square-meter tensile membrane, as well as the construction of advanced sports broadcasting systems, stadium sound systems, timing and scoring systems, customer visit management systems, and other sports facilities engineering projects. Other major works in the second phase include the construction of four separate buildings outside the stadium, warehouses, outdoor sunken amphitheaters, training grounds and outdoor squares, and the renovation of landscape rivers.

This project will greatly promote the development of the sports industry in Ethiopia, and provide conditions for the country to hold major intercontinental and even world sports events. After completion, the stadium will serve to host important international events, such as the Africa Cup, and become one of Ethiopia's landmarks.
