A virtual open day event was held by CSCEC Sri Lanka on the afternoon of Sept. 24.

CSCEC's presence in Sri Lanka, a jewel on the Indian Ocean, can be traced back to the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) completed in 1973. This timeless project, jointly built by the predecessors of CSCEC and the Sri Lankan people, is a symbol of the friendship between the Sri Lankan and Chinese people.

CSCEC has left a strong footprint in Sri Lanka. From the northernmost region Jaffna to the southernmost Hambantota, CSCEC works diligently on a wide array of projects including roads, water conservancy, tunnels, apartments, hotels, and shopping malls. The company has established cooperative relationships with many local companies to jointly promote the development of construction, materials, transportation, labor, and other related industries in Sri Lanka.

The Extension of Southern Expressway Project constructed by CSCEC has greatly improved the connectivity between the two major ports of Colombo and Hambantota. Local people call the project the "road to happiness" and the "road to wealth."

CSCEC has created more than 2,500 local jobs and over 20,000 employment opportunities in related industries.
