Robots are changing both people's lifestyles and the traditional modes of production. As a new driving force for high-quality economic and social development, robotics has also attracted significant attention from countries all over the world. The World Robot Conference 2021, now in its sixth year, is a means to contribute Chinese wisdom and solutions to the development of the global robotics industry.

With the profound impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the latest conference was held both online and offline. More than 300 industry experts and business elites, including Turing Award winners and academicians at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, met online and shared their insights through the three main forums, 19 thematic forums, seven international bilateral and multilateral conferences, and 20 supporting activities.

As part of the conference, the expo brought together 513 innovative robot products from 108 leading domestic and foreign enterprises.

According to the 2021 China Robot Industry Development Report released during the conference, China's robot industry has developed rapidly in recent years. Despite being affected by the epidemic, the country's industrial robot market shares still accounted for approximately 40% of the global total in 2020. In 2021, China's robot market is expected to reach a total worth of 83.9 billion yuan, with an average growth rate of 18.3% between 2016 to 2023.

The closing ceremony also witnessed the release of the Top 10 Hottest Frontiers of Robotics (2012-2022). The 10 frontiers include human artificial muscles and smart skin, robot core component technologies, machine vision technology, micro-nano devices and micro-actuators, virtual reality robots, and interactive technologies, among other highlights.

A total of 10 "Investment and Innovation Star" programs were also announced on Monday, showcasing the integration of robotics technology and industry.
