Pork prices in China went down week on week, official data showed Wednesday.
From Oct. 31 to Nov. 6, the average pork price tracked by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs was 34.86 yuan (about 4.83 U.S. dollars) per kg, down 2.2 percent week on week. The price was 51.6 percent higher than a year ago.
To maintain supply and price stability, Chinese authorities have released several batches of pork into the market from central reserves, according to the National Development and Reform Commission.
