The United Kingdom has been designated as the Guest of Honor for the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), scheduled to take place in Beijing from Sept. 2 to 6.

The 2023 CIFTIS will have three venues, namely, the China National Convention Center, National Indoor Stadium, and Shougang Park. The event aims to foster global participation and will feature a diverse range of comprehensive and thematic activities. Its goal is to attract a wide array of exhibitors from around the world and facilitate valuable connections and collaborations.

Preparations for the fair are moving forward smoothly. Currently, countries including the U.K. and Malaysia are planning to send high-level delegations. Over 50 countries and international organizations will establish physical or online booths, including France and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

John Edwards, the U.K.'s trade commissioner for China, has emphasized the significance of this event for the British government. Accordingly, senior officials will participate actively to promote meaningful engagements and exchanges between the two countries.

The U.K. is expanding the scale of its exhibition. Participation from the U.K.'s top-tier enterprises will highlight their products and services across a variety of sectors, including digital, environmental, finance, education, healthcare, and creative industries. The U.K. delegation will also host forums, industry seminars, and signing ceremonies, offering valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration on global challenges like climate change.
