The newly installed capacity of solar power expanded 42.9 percent year on year to 490 million kilowatts, while that of wind power stood at about 390 million kilowatts, representing a yearly increase of 14.3 percent, data from the National Energy Administration (NEA) showed.

The country's installed power generation capacity totaled about 2.74 billion kilowatts, rising 11.5 percent year on year, the NEA said.

China has enhanced its renewable energy investment over the years as part of its pursuit of green development.
