The cultural and tourism services exhibition has once again become the most popular exhibition at this year's China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). As of the afternoon of Sept. 4, the exhibition has attracted more than 80,000 visits.

This year’s exhibition highlights the integration of culture and sci-tech advancements. Through technologies such as remote satellite images, naked-eye 3D devices, and cloud-based rendering services, the exhibition offers visitors a unique perspective of Beijing's 7.8-kilometer-long north-to-south central axis.

Over the years, Beijing's municipal authorities have rolled out a number of policy measures to enhance the integration of its cultural and technological sectors. These include documents that foster the innovative development of its cultural sector, plans to build Beijing into a national cultural center, and the introduction of the nation's first policy package to integrate sci-tech advancements into cultural industries.

As a result, the city is now home to 10 national demonstration bases for cultural-tech integration and is proactively deploying 5G, big data, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR) technologies within the cultural sector.

Official statistics show that in the first half of 2023, enterprises involved in new forms of businesses relating to the cultural sector have achieved a revenue of 642.1 billion yuan, up 19.2% year on year and 4.2 percentage points higher than the national average.
