2023 CIFTIS concludes with notable achievements

The 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) wrapped up on Wednesday in Beijing. Recording over 1,100 achievements, the fair provided a platform for effective communication and collaboration, offering a boost to the global economic recovery.

Over five days, the fair hosted 10 summits, 102 forums, 18 side events, and 72 business matchmaking sessions. More than 2,400 enterprises from around the globe participated in the physical exhibition.

By noon on Sept. 6, the exhibition had drawn nearly 280,000 visitors who explored a diverse range of overseas goods, intangible cultural heritage items, and cutting-edge tech gadgets from around the world.

The fair also witnessed increased international participation. This year, 83 countries and international organizations displayed their exhibits, with eight first-time participants.

Furthermore, side events saw positive outcomes. During the inaugural "Invest in China Year" business matching session for greater openness in the service sector, 35 business projects from home and abroad engaged in negotiation, resulting in an estimated investment of over 70 billion yuan ($9.5 billion). Moreover, the fair saw the signing of the United Nations (U.N.) Convention on the International Effects of Judicial Sales of Ships, also known as the Beijing Convention on the Judicial Sale of Ships.

Many products were also unveiled to explore the full potential of global trade in services. Side events at the fair saw 75 enterprises and institutions announce 139 achievements, which included 125 innovative products and technologies spanning AI, fintech, healthcare, and cultural creativity.
