Indonesia's Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway has increased its travel schedule to 25 per day, up from the previous 14, said Corporate Secretary of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) Eva Chairunisa on Wednesday.
"Due to high public demand, especially on weekends and certain days," Chairunisa explained the reason.
Operating commercially since Oct. 17, the railway has carried 58,000 passengers, with an average of 7,200 daily.
The 142.3-km long railway line with 13 tunnels operates at speeds of up to 350 km per hour.
One of President Joko Widodo's flagship infrastructure projects and part of China's Belt and Road Initiative, the railway has cut the Jakarta-Bandung journey from three hours to around 40 minutes.
