Erenhot Port in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has handled over 3,000 China-Europe freight train trips so far this year, local railway authorities said on Tuesday.
It is the first time the railway port has recorded such a high number of China-Europe freight trains within a year since its China-Europe freight train service was launched in 2013.
Erenhot Port is the largest land port between China and Mongolia. It has been providing a green channel for China-Europe freight trains since the beginning of this year, improving the service's operational efficiency.
The number of China-Europe freight train trips via the port between 2013 and the second half of 2019 totaled about 3,000. However, the same figure has now been racked up within a single year, proving the robust growth of the port's cargo transport, according to the local authorities.
