The founding of legal service centers in the Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone (CDHT) in Chengdu, Sichuan province, is recently recognized by the municipal authorities, among 145 cases recommended by local departments, as an innovative practice to improve the overall business environment of the city this year.
These centers, which provide legal services covering full life cycle of business, are popular among the business community for their responsiveness and closeness.
Over the past half year, the service centers have helped enterprises settle more than 3,000 contract disputes and labor disputes, provided more than 400 legal consultations, and mediated more than 500 cases, involving a subject amount of more than 70 million yuan ($9.82 million).
Apart from that, the CDHT launched a 24-hour self-service terminal at the gate of local court this year that can offer many categories of legal services, including filing a case. The CDHT also opened a cloud police office on the internet handling disputes related to the intellectual property rights to strengthen IPR protection and promote innovation.
The CDHT Administrative Committee said that the CDHT will continue to improve the rule of law of its business environment, create a stable, fair, transparent, and predictable environment for all types of business entities, and make the enterprises rest assured to carry out industrial innovation and technological innovation.
