The comprehensive bonded zone at Beijing Daxing International Airport on Thursday launched a direct mail export model for cross-border e-commerce, significantly increasing delivery efficiency.
For instance, goods sold from the Chinese mainland to Chicago, U.S., can now be directly shipped from the Daxing airport, bypassing international warehouse transfers in Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Republic of Korea, Japan, or Vietnam. That can reduce transportation time from nine days to four days.
By 2024, the bonded zone at the airport is expected to handle approximately 15,000 metric tons of cross-border e-commerce goods annually, with an export trade value of around 5 billion yuan ($699 million).
By leveraging advantages in convenient customs clearance, quality ground services, and growing international transport capacity, the management committee of the Beijing Daxing Airport Economic Zone is committed to fostering the growth of its cross-border trade and logistics center and improving the supply chain of the cross-border e-commerce sector, said a person in charge of the management committee of the economic zone.
