Artificial intelligence, including generative AI, will take center stage at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which will be held in the U.S. city of Las Vegas from Jan. 9 to 12.

The annual event is expected to attract more than 130,000 attendees and over 4,000 exhibitors from more than 150 countries and regions, including over 1,200 startups, according to the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), organizer of the CES.

"This year at CES, we are excited to spotlight the critical role that technology is playing to improve every aspect of the human experience. CES 2024 will be the hub where business leaders meet, dream, and solve," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CTA.

"AI is the story of the show," said Shapiro.

Taking problem-solving to epic new levels, AI is revolutionizing the user experience. Whether increasing accessibility or boosting efficiency, AI's state-of-the-art hardware and software solutions play an active role in industry development worldwide.

The AI revolution that dominated headlines in 2023 will continue to roll on in 2024.

The annual show is expected to present the latest developments in AI and the next generation of intelligent and autonomous machines, and reveal how AI is driving innovations in people's lives such as food, retail and restaurant experiences.

Companies including Qualcomm, Intel, Walmart, and Best Buy are expected to tout AI-enabled products and services.

Semiconductor giants will be promoting their latest AI processors for data centers and edge devices such as laptops, smartphones and headsets. Other chip companies may pitch their latest wireless, memory, power management and other integrated circuits.

Chipmakers will not be the only companies focusing on AI. Automakers, retailers, and home appliance manufacturers are also expected to show how they are using AI to power their latest products.

Qualcomm President and CEO Cristiano Aman will deliver a keynote speech at the tech show on the potential for generative AI, and how on-device generative AI can make devices respond to individuals' input in ways that transform the user experience.

CES 2024 will also feature a series of panel discussions on AI and its impact on various business segments. Business leaders and experts are expected to focus on AI advancements in various sectors such as agriculture, entertainment, health care, and transportation.
