From performance costumes to mamianqun, exploring the key to wealth in a small town in Shandong

During this year's Spring Festival, sales of the horse-face skirts, or mamianqun in Chinese, a type of traditional Chinese skirt, in Cao county, Shandong province reached 300 million yuan ($41.41 million). Daiji Town in this county was once the largest production base for Hanfu performance costumes in China, producing 70% of such costumes nationwide. This video tells the story of how this once-impoverished county revitalized its economy by specializing in the production of Hanfu.
