As a prelude to the Global Digital Economy Conference, Beijing on Thursday launched the Digital Economy Experience Week and Digital Consumption Festival, offering residents a chance to explore the city's cutting-edge digital advancements through eight specially designed routes.

According to the organizers, the eight routes cover core areas of the digital economy, including the metaverse, smart mobility, industrial internet, and artificial intelligence. With nearly 30 different experience scenarios, participants can choose to follow a complete route or focus on specific points of interest.

Some routes open up mysterious tech environments, making visitors feel as if they have stepped into a science fiction movie. For example, on the "Crossing Reality and Virtuality" route, residents can explore the metaverse in the century-old Shougang Park, a former industrial site and venue for the 2022 Winter Olympics, experiencing an immersive cyberpunk world.

The "Chasing the Stars" route delves into BeiDou navigation and satellite remote sensing, where visitors can visit the UniStrong BeiDou Satellite Navigation Application Museum to learn about the development and latest achievements of the BeiDou System, experiencing realistic 3D models of cities, factories, and transportation systems.

On the "Smart Vehicles" route, visitors can ride in autonomous vehicles within the world's first connected cloud-controlled autonomous driving demonstration zone, Yizhuang. Besides visiting exhibition halls, they can also test-ride Level 4 self-driving cars, where the vehicle operates without a driver, and are managed remotely from the outside.

Previously rarely open to the public, various labs, exhibition halls, and factories are featured on multiple routes, offering residents a glimpse of the advancements in the industrial internet, augmented reality technologies, and modern industries.

The "My AI World" route showcases the future trends of AI. At Kuaishou Headquarters and other AI innovation bases and blockchain innovation labs, visitors can gain in-depth knowledge about AI, cloud computing, big data, blockchain, and other cutting-edge tech industries, and experience large language models up close.

The registration channels for these routes are now open. Residents can sign up for tours through the QR code or link on the official website of the Global Digital Economy Conference.
