Chinese phone maker Xiaomi announced late Monday that its second model, an SUV, is scheduled to hit the market in June or July 2025.
The SUV, called YU7, will be an electric model, with a 3-meter wheelbase. It measures 4,999 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width and 1,600 mm in height, according to information from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Xiaomi did not give a price range nor did it reveal the YU7's rivals. Chinese reports said it might take on Tesla's Model Y, which is one of the most popular models in the segment.
Xiaomi launched its first model, the SU7, in late March this year. The electric sedan, which resembles Porsche's Taycan, has been popular, with its sales exceeding 20,000 units in November.
The phone maker said it is confident that the SU7's cumulative sales this year will hit the target of 130,000 units.
