The Sanlitun commercial area has undergone a major transformation with the completion of a comprehensive upgrade project around the newly renovated Workers' Stadium. 

Launched in September last year, the upgrade project spans a total area of 26.81 hectares, and includes improving the surrounding streetscapes, revitalizing key commercial plazas, renovating green buffer zones, and enhancing the exteriors of adjacent older communities.

"The newly renovated Workers' Stadium now serves multiple purposes, combining the functions of a commercial hub and an urban park," said an official managing the Sanlitun community. 

As an integral part of the Sanlitun commercial district, the Workers' Stadium is set to host major domestic and international sports and cultural events, and positions itself as a new landmark for sports and entertainment in Beijing, said the official.
