China's Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle has achieved new milestones in building itself as a major economic center with national impact. Its GDP is expected to reach 8.6 trillion yuan (US$1.17 trillion) in 2024, growing by over 2 trillion yuan in the past five years, according to a press conference Thursday.
