A symposium on the global expansion of Beijing's private enterprises was held on Thursday.
This year, the local government will set up more professional platforms to support the global expansion of Beijing's private enterprises and accelerate the overseas deployment of industrial chains, according to speakers from various trade authorities and commerce associations at the symposium.
On the symposium, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing), Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, Beijing Federation of Industry & Commerce and Beijing Chamber of International Commerce held discussions with more than 60 enterprise representatives to gain deeper insights into the private enterprises' global expansion efforts and to address their practical needs.
In 2024, private enterprises in Beijing recorded an import and export volume of 435.28 billion yuan (US$60.9 billion), a year-on-year increase of 11.9%. This accounted for 12.1% of the city's total foreign trade, and demonstrated the firms' strong enthusiasm for global expansion.
Li Xiangying, chairperson of CCPIT Beijing, said on the symposium the council will strengthen cooperation with enterprises, provide more services including overseas market information, financial aid, legal support, and security, to help them expand into new markets and mitigate operational risks abroad.
