A female college student in Dalian city, Liaoning province was forced to have sex with a man for months after being abducted by him, Modern Express reported. The suspect has been put into criminal custody by police.

The 22-year-old, in her third year at college, met the self-styled "army man" online three years ago. They arranged their first meeting in Dalian in February after the man lied that his right eye had been blinded while doing a "Good Samaritan" deed.

The girl believed what he said and recommended a hotel near her campus to him. She was raped that night, beginning her months-long nightmare.

The victim was taken to the man's sister's rented house a few days later. She was threatened not to tell her parents otherwise her whole family would be killed.

She escaped in April and returned to college, but was tracked down by the man and caught three months later. Since then, she suffered regular violence and sexual abuse. Whenever she mentioned going home, she would be beaten.

In September, the suspect took the victim to Shandong province to avoid her family. The girl again managed to escape and reported to local police on Sept 13. The man was detained.

Police said the girl and her family had many opportunities to call them but had failed to do so.

The incident occurred at a time when a series of missing young women had been reported. Police warned that female students should raise their awareness.

On Aug 9, a 20-year-old student in Chongqing mistakenly took an unlicensed taxi and was later was killed by the driver. Three days later a 19-year-old student was robbed and killed on her way from Suzhou to Nanjing.
