This year marks the 25th anniversary of Chinese troops participating in UN peacekeeping missions. During the past two and half decades, China has sent more than 30,000 peacekeepers worldwide. It contributes more than 3,000 military and police personnel to UN peacekeeping missions as of June this year, making the country the largest troop contributor among the five permanent UN Security Council members.
