Eighteen schools have been selected as demonstration bases for ice and snow sports in Yanqing District, Shijingshan District in Beijing, Zhangjiakou City in Hebei and Harbin City in Heilongjiang.

The move came after the first collection of "Primary and Secondary Schools Winter Sports" has been officially published by People’s Education Press. The series of books will come into schools nationwide in September this year, joined by those 18 demonstration schools including Zhongguancun No.2 Primary School and Zhangjiakou No.21 Middle School.

Since Beijing and Zhangjiakou won the bid for 2022 Olympic Winter Games, ice and snow sports have been prevailing among the public, especially the youth.

The collection, including eight volumes of student books and three of teachers’, tells major winter sports such as speed skating, figure skating, ice hockey, alpine skiing and snowboarding step by step from primary school to high school, as well as a brief introduction to the winter Olympic sports culture and competition events.

There are real-man pictures illustrating the sports technique details in textbooks, making the content more intuitive, vivid and easy to master. QR code technology is also applied to show a complete recording of demonstration.
