Up to a hundred countries and international organizations have expressed their intention to participate in the International Horticultural Exposition 2019, Beijing, China (Beijing Expo 2019), among which 20 countries have confirmed their participation.

Last year the Chinese government launched invitations to international exhibitors and so far 20 countries including India, Sudan, and Algeria have confirmed their participation in written form. The Netherlands and India have made on-the-spot survey in the garden for site selection. Officials at German and British embassies in China have said they would confirm participation as soon as possible.

The expo aims to attract 100 countries and international organizations to participate, with 80 percent of them confirmed in 2017, according to an official for the expo.

The expo will build an exhibition area including international exhibition parks and international pavilions. The exhibition parks will feature outdoor displays from Europe, Asia, America, Africa, Oceania and international organizations, with each park spanning from 1,000 to 3,000 square meters. The international pavilion will be indoor exhibition with a total area of 13,200 square meters, which equals 50 to 200 square meters for each stand. Among them, 50 stands will be reserved to show the horticultural characteristics of the exhibitors under the concept of global gardens.
