China is against the interference in Hong Kong affairs by any foreign institution through whatever means, a spokesperson for the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) said Thursday.

The U.S. Congressional-Executive Commission on China recently held a hearing on Hong Kong, claiming that the "one country, two systems" is under erosion.

In response to media inquiry about the office's view on the issue, the spokesperson said over the past two decades since Hong Kong's return, the principle of "one country, two systems", "Hong Kong people administrating Hong Kong" and a high degree of autonomy has been faithfully implemented.

Hong Kong has maintained its prosperity and stability, the spokesperson said, adding the residents of Hong Kong enjoy full rights and freedoms in accordance with the law.

"This is the fact widely recognized by anyone without bias," the spokesperson said. "The determination of the Chinese Central Government to implement the 'one country, two systems' in a full and faithful manner in accordance with the Constitution and the Basic Law remains firm and will not change."

Hong Kong is a special administrative region of China, and Hong Kong affairs are entirely China's domestic affair, said the spokesperson, adding that the related hearing deliberately confounded right with wrong out of ulterior motives.

"It grossly meddled in Hong Kong affairs and openly interfered in China's domestic affairs," the spokesperson said, "The Chinese side is gravely concerned about and firmly opposed to such move."
