The University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences held its unveiling ceremony in Beijing Tuesday, welcoming its first 392 undergraduates.

The students will study seven majors in four schools, focusing on Marxism, humanities, economics and international relations.

The university, dubbed China's youngest university, is affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). It was founded with the combined resources of the CASS Graduate School and the China Youth University of Political Studies.

The university said it planned to adopt teaching methods such as tutoring, sending students overseas and encouraging research.

It also plans to recruit its undergraduates to pursue postgraduate studies

The campus is located in Beijing's suburban district of Fangshan.
