China will provide its medical workers with higher salaries, better social welfare, and safer working environments, according to an instruction issued earlier this week.
The instruction, jointly issued by the National Health Commission and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said these measures aim to make medical workers feel more satisfied with their jobs and further improve the quality of the country's medical services.
Other measures include protecting the medical workers' rights to take vacations and caring more about their physical and mental health.
Related departments at all levels should carry out coordinated efforts to protect the medical workers' rights and interests, the instruction stressed.
The instruction was issued ahead of China's first Medical Workers' Day, which falls on Sunday.
