The level of cooperation between China and the countries along the Belt and Road has been increasing year on year. The index for 2018 is 47.12, which is 2.01 points and 3.57 points higher than that in 2017 and 2016 respectively, according to a report released on Sept. 19 by the National Information Center during the 2018 Summer Davos Forum.
It is the third consecutive year that the National Information Center has issued a comprehensive annual report, which uses big data technology to comprehensively reflect the progress and effectiveness of the Belt and Road construction.
Based on more than 500 billion pieces of information collected by more than ten data sources, the Belt and Road Big Data Report 2018 analyzed six aspects of cooperation between China and 71 countries and regions, and used six indicators to evaluate the cooperation level.
Ning Jizhe, deputy head of the National Development and Reform Commission and head of the National Bureau of Statistics, said the report can provide extended information for both China and other countries to understand and participate in the Belt and Road construction.
According to the report, Russia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, South Korea and Vietnam were ranked as the top five partners. Domestically, Guangdong, Shandong, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Jiangsu are the top five provinces and municipalities according to the level of participation in the initiative.
