Trains will likely carry 13.7 million passengers on Sunday, with 889 extra trains put into use, according to the China Railway Corporation (CRC).

The holiday for Dragon Boat Festival ran from Friday to Sunday this year.

On June 8, over 10.05 million passenger trips were made by rail, and 540 extra trains were added to meet travel demand, CRC data showed.

China is estimated to see 134 million passenger trips made by road and waterway during the festival, 3 percent less compared with a year ago, according to the Ministry of Transport.
