In order to provide greater assistance for companies in Beijing exporting COVID-19 related medical equipment, the Beijing Medical Products Administration has decided to reduce the time taken to issue certificates of free sale for the export of medical devices made by companies in Beijing for sale overseas, from seven days to one.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, many companies in Beijing have worked closely with universities, scientific research institutes and medical institutions to develop and produce medical devices with international certification. At present, a total of 20 COVID-19 test kits developed or produced by 10 companies have obtained the EU's CE marking, and have been exported to countries across Asia, Africa and Europe, with orders exceeding 4.5 million.
In addition, X-ray cameras, mobile X-ray cameras, emergency breathing machines, invasive/non-invasive ventilators and other medical equipment that have been used to fight COVID-19 also obtained the EU's CE marking, allowing them to be sold to countries in the EU.
Starting from March 19, the Beijing Medical Products Administration reduced the time required to issue certificates of free sale for the export of medical devices made by companies in Beijing for sale overseas, from seven days to one. With a certificate of free sale, companies can clear their goods for sale overseas, and register their products in the importing countries. As for medical device products produced by Beijing companies entrusted by foreign companies and to be sold internationally, the Beijing Medical Products Administration promised to handle certification promptly. From Jan. 20 to March 20 this year, the Beijing Medical Products Administration issued 186 certificates of free sale for export.
