Six people have died in landslides caused by heavy rain in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, local authorities said on Friday.
Downpours started to lash Kaizhou District in Chongqing early Thursday, with the cumulative rainfall reaching nearly 400 mm in some townships, causing multiple landslides and road collapses, according to the municipal emergency management bureau.
Two people were killed, and another four went missing in the landslides initially. More than 200 local people were dispatched to the site for search and rescue work.
As of Friday night, the bodies of all the missing persons had been found, bringing the death toll to six.
