Palace Museum raises the number of daily visitors to 12,000

As the COVID-19 emergency response level has been lowered, Beijing's Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, has increased the number of permitted daily visitors to12,000, starting from July 28.
To control the traffic flow, 7,000 reservations will be allowed in the morning and 5,000 in the afternoon.
Visitors can make reservations through the museum's online ticketing website using their ID card or passport information, according to a notice issued by the museum.
On arrival, they must undergo a temperature check and show their health code information as well as identification documents before admission. Masks should be worn and social distancing should be practiced.
Starting from August 1, the museum will gradually open in an orderly way its souvenir shops, bookstores and restaurants, including the Royal Icehouse Restaurant.
When the amount of visitors in these areas or halls reaches a certain density, measures will be taken to limit visitor flow.
