Origin Quantum, a quantum computing company in Hefei, capital of east China's Anhui province, launched a cloud superconducting quantum computing platform on Sept. 12.

According to CEO Kong Weicheng, Wuyuan, a superconducting quantum computer independently researched and developed by his company, will offer free quantum computing services to customers worldwide via cloud access.

Wuyuan is China's first superconducting quantum computer that can steadily operate beyond a lab setting, and it also takes the lead in practical engineering.

The platform is equipped with a six-qubit superconducting processor, with its technical indicators such as fidelity and coherence time reaching the international advanced level.

Currently, quantum computers are almost inaccessible for ordinary users as their operation requires a strict environment and expensive auxiliary equipment. As a result, major quantum computing companies in the world have been working to develop quantum cloud platforms to enable more users to experience and study the technology.

Origin Quantum is working on a 24-qubit control system for superconducting quantum chips and computers. It is expected that a 60-qubit Wuyuan superconducting quantum computer will be launched by the end of next year.
