China saw 13.26 million air trips during the eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, official data showed.
The daily passenger trips reached 91.07 percent of the level of the seven-day National Day holiday in 2019, thanks to strong travel demand spurred by effective control of the COVID-19 epidemic, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
A total of 117,327 flights carried passengers, and the average daily number of flights was 89.7 percent of the corresponding period last year, said the CAAC.
Flight punctuality or on-time performance was 95.04 percent, up 1.82 percentage points year on year, while the average passenger load factor reached 78.64 percent.
Flights with high passenger load factors mainly departed from popular tourism destinations such as Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Haikou and Lhasa, indicating rising demand, the CAAC said.
