The 17th Soong Ching Ling Children's Invention Award was announced during the weekend in Beijing. This year, 423 works were honored across four categories.

Among them, there were 265 awards for inventions, 99 awards for artificial intelligence and coding works, 29 awards for creative projects, and 30 awards for scientific and technological paintings.

This year's selection was launched in February, and received over 20,000 submissions from more than 30,000 students from 3,800 schools in China, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

To echo national strategies of pursuing peak carbon and carbon neutrality goals and rural vitalization, subjects including "Climate Action" and "Revitalizing the Beautiful Rural Area with Science and Technology" were added this year to the creative projects category and sci-tech paintings category.
