Chengdu Metro has recently opened mini shops at 13 subway stations.

The metro company hopes that the stores, or commercial cabins as they are called, can further improve the passengers' travelling experience, and provide commuters with more conveniences. By carrying out this project, the company intends to integrate the city's subway transportation system together with the lives of local residents, and realize a multi-win scenario of all parties.

The decoration of the stores, which sell packed food and drinks of some well-known brands including Pizza Hut and the McDonald's, as well as some life necessities and gifts, is highly compatible with the stations they are located in, and pays special attention to interactions between consumers and commodities so that the purchase can be made swiftly and conveniently.

Chengdu Metro plans to launch 55 such mini shops this year that will cover as many lines and stations as possible. More commodities related to food, health and cultural creativity industries will be introduced to these stores. Also, the operation of these shops will continue to be optimized to ensure the services they offer meet the people's expectations.

In the future, Chengdu Metro will strengthen the subway system's functions in six realms — service, food, fashion, digital, leisure and theme experience — so as to continuously enable the subway system to satisfy passengers' different demands, and let the people feel the warmth and thoughtfulness of the city on their way to work and back home.
