Over the past decade, China's carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP dropped by about 34.4%. The country's installed capacity of renewable energy exceeded 1 billion kilowatts, while that of the wind, solar, biomass, and hydropower generation now ranks first globally. The share of clean energy sources in total energy consumption rose from 14.5% to 25.5%, and the number of the country's new energy vehicles ownerships ranks first in the world. In 2021, China's national carbon emissions trading market, the world's largest carbon market, officially launched its online trading.
