A festive gala in the International Grape Exhibition Garden raised the curtain on activities celebrating the 6th Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival in northwestern Beijing's Yanqing district on September 23.

A performance of stilt walking, land boat dance and singing was staged at the gala. Officials from Yanqing revealed various activities for the festival, such as golden autumn sightseeing, fruit and vegetable picking, food tasting and rural experience.

On the sideline of the gala, farmers in Yanqing displayed their special agricultural products including Guoguang apples, Chinese crabapples, grapes and organic milk and vegetables.

Yanqing boasts high-quality, sweeter fruit due to its big temperature range and abundant sunlight. It is embracing a harvest of Guoguang apples, grapes and Chinese crabapples in September.
