More than 50 experts and scholars conducted in-depth discussions on human rights on the Chinese path to modernization, including the path, practice, knowledge systems, and civilization forms of human rights.
The Chinese path to modernization has broken free from the constraints of Western capitalism, providing a Chinese solution to strengthening global human rights governance and offering new ideas for other countries to achieve modernization, said Cai Lidong, executive vice president of Jilin University, at the opening ceremony.
The participants widely acknowledged that the essence of the Chinese path to modernization is the modernization of human beings, with the inner driving force being people's free and comprehensive development.
They believed that focusing on the Chinese path to modernization and people's free and comprehensive development is of considerable academic and theoretical significance and will further promote the development of China's human rights cause.
The conference was guided by the China Society for Human Rights Studies and organized by Jilin University's Human Rights Institute and School of Law.
