Beijing's cultural institutions have committed to promoting cultural prosperity following the Communist Party of China's (CPC) recent call for developing a strong socialist culture.

The pledge came after the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee adopted a resolution on deepening reform comprehensively to advance Chinese modernization.

"The convening of the third plenary session of the Party's Central Committee is of great and far-reaching significance for comprehensively advancing the socialist modernization drive and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation," said Wang Ning, secretary of Party leadership group and president of the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA).

He added that the NCPA, as a national cultural platform, will adhere to its founding principles of "being people-oriented, artistic, and international" and strives to be a pioneer and role model in promoting cultural prosperity.

Wang Jiequn, secretary of Party leadership group and director of Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau, said the bureau would align its work with the plenary session's cultural directives. He added that the bureau aims to promote content creation and focus on producing works that reflect contemporary characteristics, Chinese spirit and Beijing style.
