Recently, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology released a three-year plan to improve the public service system for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). By 2027, the city will increase the number of service facilities for SMEs to 1,000, and provide over 1 million services annually, according to the plan.
Beijing currently counts nearly 2 million SMEs. The plan aims to help SMEs overcome difficulties and address challenges, as it seeks to offer inclusive and equitable services for all SMEs, as well as customized services for innovative SMEs, said Yang Jingguo, director general of the SMEs department of the bureau.
For instance, starting from last year, SMEs can access financial services from bank customer managers through a mini program on the phone. To address difficulties in financing, more efforts will be made on credit, guarantee, investment, and other areas, while the city will also expand first-time loans, ensure refinancing loans, and increase credit loans, Yang said.
By 2027, Beijing will build about 1,000 general providers for basic services, about 100 specialized ones for innovative SMEs, 300 demonstrative platforms that provides full-chain services, 20 industrial parks for targeted services in financing and digitalization, and 20 industrial clusters.
Additionally, more efforts will be made to provide streamlined services, settle overdue payments owed to SMEs, and facilitate SMEs' participation in international exhibitions and their global development overall.
