In the first half of this year, Beijing made significant progress in its urban development initiative, which aims to optimize urban planning and improve people's wellbeing.

The city has completed several major projects and implemented policies to enhance infrastructure and services, contributing to a more balanced distribution of resources and improved quality of life for its residents.

In terms of healthcare, three major hospital expansions were completed and are set to open by the end of the year. The new Beijing Stomatological Hospital in Fengtai district, with over 130,000 square meters of floor space, will offer comprehensive dental services. Anzhen Hospital's Tongzhou branch will focus on cardiovascular diseases and have 1,300 beds. Meanwhile, the Jishuitan Hospital expansion in Changping will specialize in orthopedics and burn treatment, easing the pressure on central city hospitals.

In terms of education, Beijing has made efforts to build new branches of prestigious schools like Huangchenggen Primary School and Yucai School in various suburban districts.

The city has also built 55 new 15-minute convenience life circles, providing residents with easy access to essential services and amenities.

In the first half of this year, Beijing also revitalized several old factories and inefficient buildings and blocks, creating a total of 14,000 new parking spaces in central urban areas through new constructions and shared use agreements.

Additionally, the city completed 300 senior dining centers ahead of schedule and transformed 51 senior service stations into community restaurants.
