A group of international scholars and journalists participating in the "Enchanting Chengdu" event visited the Dong'an Lake Sports Park on Sept. 4.

The visitors toured the Chengdu Universiade Museum, located in the main stadium of Dong'an Lake Sports Park, and the nearby "Divine Bird Fan Shadow" talent service area. These venues showcased the city's legacy as a successful host of the 31st Summer Universiade and its commitment to fostering talent development.

The Chengdu Universiade Museum covers 3,300 square meters and houses nearly 80,000 items, including collections, images and electronic documents, chronicling the World Universiade's history.

The exhibition follows a timeline, presenting the Universiade's evolution. The visitors appreciated the event's preparations and athletic achievements, as well as the Chinese cultural elements in the Chengdu Universiade. According to a guide of the museum, the medal name "Rongguang," for example, incorporated Chengdu's nickname "Rong," symbolizing honor and brilliance.

The "Divine Bird Fan Shadow" talent service area offers a range of facilities and services for professionals in Chengdu, including talent service spaces, coffee spots, reading nooks, interactive exchange stations and achievement displays. The international experts took a keen interest in an exhibition area showcasing Baihe straw weaving, an intangible cultural heritage from Sichuan. They selected handmade Baihe straw souvenirs, such as hats and fans, as precious mementos of their journey.

Beyond the museum and talent service area, the international guests also explored the natural beauty of Dong'an Lake Sports Park. The expansive lake and the distant Longquan Mountain range layered in verdant hues, leaving them a lasting impression.

The "Enchanting Chengdu" event was hosted jointly by Foreign Talent Research Center of China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology. During the four-day event from Sept. 3 to 6, visitors will also visit other notable locations in Chengdu, such as Chengdu University of Technology and Chengdu Natural History Museum.
