During Shenzhen Reading Month, the Luohu District Library hosted a special healthy reading event as part of the citywide 8th "Read in Late Autumn" initiative. Held on November 2-3 and themed "Bookish Luohu, Healthy Reading," the program included an array of interactive exhibits and activities designed to foster health awareness through literature, cultural engagement, and hands-on experiences.

A highlight was the "Luohu Reading Map," visually showcasing the district’s public library network. The map depicted the comprehensive library system, which has evolved over the past 20 years. Anchored by the district library, the system features a library, community branches, and supplemental services like mobile service stations and 24-hour self-service libraries. This network encourages readers to discover the footprints of public libraries across Luohu, inviting them to explore the region’s cultural landscape during the autumn season.

Another main attraction was the herbal exhibit, offering visitors a sensory immersion into traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Activities included a "Mystical Herbal World" experience, where attendees could guess herbs, create herbal sachets, and enjoy health teas. This cultural deep dive was enhanced by a scan to listen section, where visitors could access audio books on wellness, broadening their understanding of TCM and its role in health. Visitors could also sample traditional medicinal teas and learn about Lingnan dietary culture.

Focusing on its signature programs like "Traditional New Arts" and the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Arts School," the library offered a series of heritage-themed workshops, including fan-making based on the 24 solar terms, movable-type printing, and family-friendly embedded art sessions. These activities allowed attendees to delve into traditional craftsmanship and cultural heritage. Whether visiting alone, with friends, or as a family, many were drawn to explore and appreciate the appeal of cultural heritage, often trying their hands at the creative projects provided.

The Luohu Library attracted over 3,856 visitors to its reading area alone. Centered on “Healthy Reading,” the library combined its collection and activities to create an immersive cultural experience that promoted physical and mental well-being through engagement with literature and traditional arts. The event aimed to help participants establish a healthy living mindset and embrace the rich, diverse possibilities of reading.
