In the first 11 months, Beijing recorded 259 good air quality days, 13 more than the same period last year, according to the Beijing Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau on Monday. The average concentration of PM2.5 was 32 micrograms per cubic meter from January to November.

The capital city has been holding monthly conferences to coordinate the implementation of emission reduction measures. Policies promoting new energy vehicles (NEVs) have also encouraged the shift to green energy and contributed to better air quality. The total number of NEVs in Beijing has now reached 957,000.

This year, the city added 140 environment-friendly companies and renovated heating systems in 3,000 households. Efforts to curb dust pollution at construction sites and on roads, along with the reduction of cooking fumes in over 1,800 restaurants, have further contributed to improved air quality.
