Parks across Beijing received a total of 238,000 visitors on the first day of 2025, according to the Beijing Municipal Administration Center of Parks.

Winter-themed activities at several parks attracted large numbers of visitors. Taoranting Park hosted adorable penguin parades and interactive puppet shows, Zizhuyuan Park featured a thrilling 70-meter-long, six-meter-high ice slide, and Yuyuantan Park arranged various New Year-themed ice and snow activities catering to visitors of all ages.

Many people also headed to elevated spots in the city, such as Jingshan Park and Baiwangshan Forest Park, to witness the first sunlight of the New Year. "I come here every year on New Year's Day to watch the sunrise," shared a visitor at Jingshan Park. "Seeing the first rays of the new year's sun feels like seeing hope and the power of new beginnings."

The New Year also brought new exhibitions. Biyun Temple, located in Xiangshan Park, unveiled a new historical and cultural exhibition. Meanwhile, the park introduced a series of activities that allowed participants to learn more about the temple and appreciate the charm of traditional Chinese culture.

At Zhongshan Park, a new exhibition of floral and garden oil paintings was showcased, featuring vibrant depictions of peach blossoms, tulips and orchids. Several other parks also hosted interactive science activities, such as flower preservation and traditional rubbings, providing visitors with a glimpse into the enchanting world of traditional culture.
