Beijing held a launching ceremony Wednesday for 160 major municipal projects worth 340 billion yuan ($47.4 billion) at Yizhuang Comprehensive Bonded Zone.

These projects will focus on building a modern industrial system while accelerating the integration of technological innovation with industrial progress. Key initiatives include 23 projects, such as Yizhuang Comprehensive Bonded Zone and Zhongguancun Science City International Medical Valley.

The city will develop modern infrastructure to create a smarter, more livable urban environment through 73 projects, including the east extension of Yaojiayuan Road, gas pipeline upgrades, and digital upgrades to major highways like the Beijing-Harbin Expressway.

Another 64 projects focus on public services, including affordable housing developments, education, and healthcare facilities to ensure equitable access to public services.

Officials say these initiatives will strengthen investment and drive high-quality economic and social development in the capital.
