Beijing has outlined new development plans for its five districts - Shunyi, Daxing, Yizhuang, Changping, and Fangshan - to promote Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regional cooperation and integrated growth, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform announced on Thursday.
The plans focus on developing industrial parks, enhancing talent services, improving transportation, education, and healthcare infrastructure, and fostering urban vitality, according to Yang Xiuling, director of the municipal commission.
These areas will adopt innovative resource allocation strategies to achieve distinctive and fast development. For example, Shunyi will center its economic development on Beijing Capital International Airport, Changping will take advantage of its strengths in technology and education, and Fangshan will focus on smart manufacturing industries.
According to the plan, urban and rural planned construction land in these five districts will account for about 40% of Beijing's total, offering vast potential due to their proximity to Hebei and Tianjin.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integrated development initiative.
