Dongxiao Subdistrict has established a senior service center offering recreational activities, in-home care, traditional Chinese medicine therapy, a community canteen, and childcare services, forming a 15-minute elderly care service network. The subdistrict currently operates one senior service center, one health and eldercare center, three senior service stations, and 21 in-home care service hubs.

The community activity rooms provide classes in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, along with facilities such as table tennis tables. In-home care teams offer door-to-door assistance, while the Chinese medicine therapy room provides massage and moxibustion treatments. The community canteen serves nutritious meals daily. To enhance safety and convenience, the service center is equipped with wheelchair-accessible spaces, a refrigerated medicine cabinet, and an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Dongxiao Subdistrict has repurposed community spaces, including party and senior service centers, to create four childcare service points. These centers provide half-day care, temporary daycare, and parenting guidance for families with children aged 18 to 36 months. Since their launch in March, these childcare facilities have eased the burden of intergenerational caregiving and received positive feedback from parents.

At the same time, efforts are underway to expand affordable childcare options and explore innovative models such as intergenerational care. Moving forward, Dongxiao Subdistrict aims to further improve its services for both the elderly and young, creating a community where seniors are well cared for and children receive quality early education.
