China, nine Caribbean countries hold foreign ministries' consultation

BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- The foreign ministries of China, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Surinam and Trinidad and Tobago held their fifth consultation here on Friday.

The two sides spoke highly of the new progress achieved in the friendly relationship between China and Caribbean countries, and reached broad consensus on further strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas including politics, trade, culture and international affairs, according to a press release from the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

After the consultation, the two sides issued a joint press communique.

Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Kunsheng, and David Bulbulia, deputy permanent secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados, co-chaired the consultation. Enditem
